Manual Air Dampers for Laboratory Duct Balancing Manual air dampers provide a settable restriction in a laboratory supply or exhaust branch. They are used where the balancing position can be established during commissioning and does not need continuous automatic adjustment. This category includes round and rectangular configurations for compatible PP or PVC duct systems.

Choose the Geometry from the Duct Connection The round air volume control damper connects to circular ductwork, while the rectangular air volume control damper matches rectangular sections and equipment interfaces. Selection should consider the duct dimensions, required airflow, available pressure, expected velocity, air-stream chemistry, temperature, material, connection style, blade arrangement, locking method, and access for adjustment.

Plan for Balancing and Maintenance Provide a safe location where the damper can be adjusted and inspected after installation. The commissioning plan should identify the measurement points, target airflow, balancing procedure, final locking position, and documentation for each branch. A manual blade position is not proof of delivered airflow; measurements must be taken in the installed system.

Use Motorized Air Dampers when the airflow must change from a control signal or operating sequence. Manual volume dampers are not fire dampers, smoke dampers, certified isolation devices, or liquid-service valves. Confirm the intended duty and any regulatory requirements before ordering. For a project-ready quotation, submit the duct schedule, airflow values, connection drawings, chemical and temperature data, quantities, and destination.
